Consummate Health and Sanitation (CHS) was honored to participate in the Africa CDC West Africa RCC Regional RCCE Capacity Strengthening Workshop, which took place from June 17–19, 2025 in Monrovia, Liberia. CHS was proudly represented by its Executive Director, Martin MN Forkpah, and Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning Lead, Ciatta Mai Gogbeh.
The workshop opened with powerful conversations on:
The critical role of Risk Communication and Community Engagement (RCCE) in Africa’s public health architecture, RCCE’s contribution to the One Health approach, and how RCCE supports the effective dissemination of research findings to inform and empower communities.
The workshop is attended by ministries of health and public health institutes of West African Countries. Risk Communication and Community Engagement is a strategic approach that ensures communities are informed, involved, and equipped to prevent and respond to health threats. It places trust, transparency, and two-way communication at the heart of public health action.
This workshop is particularly important for CHS as we deepen our role in antimicrobial resistance (AMR) awareness, infection prevention, and health behavior change across Liberia. Strengthening our RCCE capacity ensures our work remains community-led, evidence-based, and resilient.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Africa CDC for this timely and empowering invitation.
